"This ain't for the best. My reputation's never been worse, so you must like me for me"

Taylor Swift has been bullied, too — on a much greater scale. People made up their minds about who they thought she was. With her latest single, "Delicate" Taylor acknowledges that she's been betrayed and celebrates that she's done trying to win people over. She embraces who she is now, even if others might not.

People will continue to hit our insecurities but once we learn how to appreciate ourselves everything else will follow. I have to be honest, one of my biggest insecurity was my skin. In college, my skin was always dry and sensitive. I disliked putting lotion or face cream on because it feels greasy and it's undeniably irritating. Don't you agree?

One thing I learned growing up is that having a healthy skin is a long term commitment. Like what my Mom always say, take care of your body and it will take care of you but I guess I never listened until I was 22 years old. Well, she must be so proud of me right now. Ever since I started caring for my skin, I became more appreciative of myself to the point that I couldn't care less what other people thinks, just like Taylor! Our skin is a telltale indicator of how we feel about ourselves so I thought, what better way than to share my "beauty secret" here on the blog. Also, because a lot of you have been asking about it (referring to my recent Q and A on Instagram). I'm no beauty expert but I'm hoping this post will help you not only to look good but to feel good about yourselves.

1. Wash - Snow Crystal White Tomato: Skin Whitening Soap (₱299.00)

This is probably the most uncomplicated part of anyone's skin care routine so there shouldn't be a reason to skip this step. We all use different products to get the job done but as for me, I use Snow Crystal White Tomato: Skin Whitening Soap for my face. It was a risky move to try this for the first time but I had no regrets. I am so impressed with the formula and how it leaves my skin smooth and silky every time. If you're planning to try this product, just make sure to let it sit for 2-3 minutes before rinsing with water.

2. Cleanse - Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser (₱131.00)

My Mom introduced me to Pond's when I was a teenager and it has always been my most trusted brand ever since. This Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser or as they call it the "miracle cream" is a moisturizer, cleanser and make up remover in one. It's so versatile that I even used it to put my hair in place during one of my job interviews. For only ₱131.00, you've got yourself a product that will leave your skin feeling softer as it takes off every bit of residual makeup and dirt on your skin. Perfect for a double cleanse!

3. Exfoliate - Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay with Apple Cider (₱525.00)

One of the most sought-after product in Healthy Options can really work wonders. As someone with delicate skin, I was honestly hesitant to try it especially after hearing different reviews from close friends. Despite the fuss, I still gave in with the hype and boy, I'm glad I did. Like every other beauty products, we can't really guarantee its effect so its best to test it on a small area of our face first to check its reaction to our skin. To use, just mix 1-2 teaspoons of the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay with an equal amount of Apple Cider to make a paste and immediately apply to the skin. Leave it for 10-15 minutes then rinse with clean warm water.

4. Tone - Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner (₱314.00)

I've tried several toners this year, but so far, Neutrogena is the only product that delivered visible results in just one week. Plus, it's alcohol-free!

5. Serum - Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (₱4,495.00)

This is my holy grail. It is more than I have ever spent on a beauty product, but it's a solid investment so I took the plunge. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy applying Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum before bed. It's a Serum made of essential oils and distilled botanical that repairs skin overnight. I would definitely recommend this product because not only is it from a reliable brand but it also delivers a consistent and lasting results.

6. Moisturize - Pond's Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream (₱1,000.00)

I'm sure you will agree with me when I say applying moisturizer is a significant part of our skin care regimen. Therefore, it is also important that we pick a moisturizer that suits us well. I'm glad I discovered Pond's Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream because it keeps my skin moist and hydrated as it gently removes dull surface skin cells and smooths fine lines.

Aaaand there you have it! That's basically my 6-step skin care routine before hitting the sack. I've included their prices for your reference but note that I don't promote any of the products aforementioned. These are my honest and nothing but the truth review! I've been using some of these products for years now but let's be real here, what worked for me might not work for you. It's important to always do a simple test before trying it out on your face to prevent skin reactions. After all, skincare is a trial and error thing.

Here's a little quote to ponder on by Renée Rouleau before I end this post, "Be good to your skin. You'll wear it everyday for the rest of your life."

Have you tried any of the products I shared? How was it? Share it with me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Stay Sassy!
